Personal Connection
My inspiration for founding Walk With You came from years of witnessing the profound pain and challenges families face after losing a child. As a NICU nurse, I cared for critically ill babies and supported families through the unimaginable heartbreak of losing a child. While we did our best to guide them within the hospital, I often wondered what happened after they left—if they found the support they desperately needed. This question became deeply personal in 2020 when my friend’s daughter, Hallie, died after a tragic drowning accident. I walked with her family through those heartbreaking days, from the hospital to funeral planning, and saw firsthand how isolating grief can be. These experiences—both as a nurse and as a friend—shaped my vision for Walk With You, ensuring no family faces this journey alone.
Roles & Contributions
As the Founder and CEO of Walk With You, I oversee Bereavement Support and often work directly with families in the days and weeks surrounding the loss of their child. My role involves meeting families during their most vulnerable moments, advocating for their needs, and coordinating the support that helps them navigate all that comes when a child dies. Whether guiding parents through decisions like planning a service, connecting them with resources, or helping them create keepsakes to preserve their child’s memory, I ensure our organization provides tangible and compassionate support every step of the way.
Vision & Impact
My hope is to bridge the gap in support that exists between the healthcare setting and the ongoing journey of grieving the loss of a child. Families face so many overwhelming decisions and emotions in the early days after losing a child—from planning a funeral to preserving memories—and it’s often hard to know where to start. I want Walk With You to be the steady hand that guides them through this difficult time, ensuring they feel supported, heard, and equipped to navigate all that comes when a child dies. To me, honoring a child’s legacy means preserving their memory, saying their name, and ensuring their impact is felt in meaningful ways. This vision drives every aspect of my work, from meeting with families to shaping the direction of Walk With You as an organization.
